Excerpts from Vie Fatale-Copyrighted Rahman,brigitte arlette-2000

Anataalie was glad to be home, she went to refresh herself, put on a silk turquoise housedress, and sat in the sofa in her study room.Vilma, the Filipina maid, came with a tray , a smoking pot of coffee, and Anataalie's cup, faience without handles and said: "I am so happy that you are back, when you are away, life seems so boring.."

Anataalie raised her head and smiled gently:" It is fine Vilma, I am not going to travel for some time now. I will stay put. It is late, go to take your rest and thank you for everything."

"You are welcome Madame. Oh I forgot documents arrived for you by courrier just this morning. Here they are, madame, good night."

Anataalie watched Vilma leaving the room and closing the door behind her. She looked around, yes it was her magical place, a place of her own.The place was full of antiques, rosewood furniture, silver pots, paintings on the wall, persian carpets on the parquet. This was her true home. She closed her eyes, and tried to relax, a tear fell on her cheek, she did not move, she just kept on crying silently.

Then she took the enveloppe and opened it. It was coming from Private Investigators-New York. She already knew.

This site is dedicated to David Copperfield, someone who just taught me a great life lesson.
